The Lagos State Government has officially released the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results. This development was made public through a statement from Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board.
He emphasized that both public and approved private junior secondary schools across the state can now access their students’ results online via the Lagos State Examination Board’s portal. Schools were provided usernames and passwords during registration, allowing them to retrieve their results as early as Monday, 23rd September 2024.
To streamline the process and minimize the stress involved in collecting physical copies, the state has opted for this online system. This move eliminates delays in obtaining results and eases the burden of visiting the board’s office in person. Mr. Orunsolu expressed satisfaction with the cooperation from stakeholders and attributed the success of the new policy to this support.
In addition to the release of results, there is provision for students who did not meet the pass requirements in critical subjects like English Studies or Mathematics. A resit examination for these students will be scheduled, with dates communicated to the affected schools soon.
The BECE serves as a significant milestone for students in Lagos State, marking their transition from junior to senior secondary education. This examination assesses core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, among others.
For students and school authorities who need to access their results or schedule for resit exams, they can visit the official Lagos State Examination Board portal.
