In an impressive display of educational support, Heirs Insurance Group awarded N8 million in scholarships to the winners of its 2024 Essay Championship.
The event, which took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, saw top young minds from across Nigeria compete for the prestigious scholarships.
The first-place winner, Hephzibah Chidi from Seacrest Preparatory School in Rivers State, secured a N5 million scholarship for her captivating essay titled “The Story of My Hero.” Along with her personal achievement, her school received a N1 million grant to fund educational projects, further emphasizing Heirs Insurance’s dedication to fostering educational growth.
Other winners included Pemisire Owolabi from Quest College, Oyo State, who received N2 million for second place, and Mariam Raheem from Isador Model School, Lagos State, who earned N1 million for her third-place finish.
Nearly 5,000 Junior Secondary School students nationwide participated in the competition, showcasing creativity and critical thinking in their essays.
The winners were celebrated in the presence of their parents, school representatives, and distinguished guests such as Charles Odii, Director General of SMEDAN, and Niyi Onifade, MD/CEO of Heirs Life Assurance.
